Honest Tea Heavenly Lemon Tulsi: Unexpected, Indescribable, and Extraordinary!

Honest Tea Heavenly Lemon Tulsi

As a mother of 3 beautiful daughters, I’d rather be sick, myself, than for one of my girls to feel ill.  In fact, when one of the three doesn’t feel well, I find it nearly impossible to feel well!  However, I did benefit by a recent stomach virus Emily (aka The Crazy Tea Chick) had.  She was sent a few bottles of Honest Tea to review for the site just as she was beginning to feel bad.  She drank the first bottle and loved it. But, her poor stomach just wasn’t up for the second bottle, an exotic bottle of Heavenly Lemon Tulsi (shown above) .

Like any tea-addicted, loving mother, I stepped in and did what needed to be done.  As I licked my lips, I told her to give me the bottle and I’d do the “work” for her.   I was thinking of her the whole time… well, her and Honest Tea which is always outstanding.

This is the first time I’d tried their Heavenly Lemon Tulsi but it won’t be the last. I’m, at once, intrigued and fascinated by the unique flavor of this tea. Suffice to say it’s unlike anything you’ve ever tasted, which is one of the things I love about being a tea drinker.  People who drink soft drinks, diet soft drinks, water, or energy drinks get the same flavor time after time.  However, tea lovers have a whole world of flavors and blends to choose from. Even cooler, we have ingenious tea companies like Honest Tea who provide us with such fun, creative, healthy, and delicious drinks on a regular basis.

From the back of the bottle of Honest Tea Heavenly Lemon Tulsi:

Tulsi, also known as “holy basil,” is a naturally caffeine-free herb that has long been revered in its native India as a healing balm for mind, body, and spirit.  We infuse organic tulsi with aromatic lemon peel, lemon myrtle, and lemongrass for a soothing blend that transcends ordinary herbal tea. It will have you saying “Ahhhh,” “Ommmmm,” and “Mmmmm” – all at the same time.

Basil in tea? Don’t worry.  Unlike its secular basil cousins that pair well with pine nuts and pasta, tulsi has a unique flavor that’s been used in tea for thousands of years.

As a herb grower and someone who uses them religiously in her cooking, I can attest to the fact that tulsi tastes nothing like basil.  They’re both highly aromatic and masters at what they do for a living, but the tastes aren’t similar.  Tulsi has a flavor that can’t really be described – but it is absolutely perfect in this tea.  Combining it with the lemon flavorings was EXACTLY right.

If you aren’t familiar with Honest Tea, head to your favorite grocery store and buy an armful of bottles today. Try different varieties – they’re all great, believe me, I’ve tried just about all of them. Honest Tea is delicious without bombarding your taste buds (or waistline) with extra sweetness. That’s something I love for a lot of reasons, but the main one is this: Call me crazy, but I want to actually taste the tea when I’m drinking tea! Honest Tea gets that.

If you can’t find Heavenly Lemon Tulsi at your grocery store, head over to Amazon. See Honest Organic Lemon Heavenly Tulsi Tea ( 12/16 OZ) for more information.
