I may as well admit it now – there’s no denying the obvious. I think about Christmas 12 months a year. Sure, I hit a fever pitch during the months from September to January, but it’s on my mind the rest of the year as well.
I buy gifts all year and store them in a highly confidential location (that sounds a litter better than saying, “in a walk-in closet“), I work on my menus all year, and I most definitely round up unique ornaments and decorations in each of the four seasons.
In our family, we do something unique with our tree’s decorations: we “represent” each beloved family member with ornaments that kind of tell a story about them. They all love scouring the tree each year to find the new additions that were, obviously, bought with them in mind.
we have a few cat lovers in the family, so there are plenty of cats
my husband loves golf, so there are golf-related ornaments
the family’s Star Wars fanatic can find his favorite guys on the tree
there are hockey, football, and baseball ornaments for those who have their favorite sports
my youngest daughter is infatuated with all things “celestial” so there are stars and moons
my oldest daughter and I are ALL about tea, so we’re represented with tea ornaments (in addition to the cats!)
the oldest daughter is also quite obsessed with Disney princesses, so these beauties populate the branches
my middle daughter has always loved Minions, so they’re there to make her smile even more than usual!
etc, etc, etc.
The gorgeous Teapot Ornaments (set of 6) above will be found on our tree this year and every year thereafter. I saw them on Amazon earlier and nearly fell out of my chair. They’re just gorgeous!
As you’d expect, I’ll be adding more tea ornaments and gift ideas for tea lovers in the coming days.
